His Grace: Drug Addiction and The Loss of a Loved One - Mormon Message

His Grace: Drug Addiction and The Loss of a Loved One By God’s grace we are able to overcome any challenge life brings. And with His Grace we are able to feel the much needed love and comfort amidst our trials. A common trail of many families is drug addiction and the death of a loved one. It is important to know that if you have struggled with drug addiction you are not alone. And if you have lost a loved one to death by overdose you are not alone. The family in this video shares their experience with drug addiction and the loss of a loved one. “We’re here in this life to overcome our challenges and become stronger… Through our faith in our Savior Jesus Christ and knowing the price that he has paid for us—and for everyone on this earth—that has helped us get through the tough times.” Speaking of Jesus’ grace, we learn from the New Testament in Romans chapter 5, verse 2, “By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Moroni chapter 10, verses 32-33 from the Book of Mormon says, “Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God. And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot.” Through God’s grace we can become perfected. Through His grace we can be given the strength to endure life’s most difficult struggles like those of this family.
